The Commoners Press was formed in 2017 with purchases of 3 letterpresses, one paper guillotine and various printing sundries (paper stock, printing ink and tools) from Ray, owner of Excell Press in Brunswick. The presses had been purchased new and used only by Ray before he retired in 2017. After the presses were purchased we continued to learn from Ray about the presses as well as Geoff White a former pressman who had completed his apprenticeship on the machines we had purchased. We moved locations from Brunswick to Coburg North in January 2021 and are part of Coburg Studios on Charles St, Coburg North.
