Kids’ Own Publishing creates books by children, for children. Through collaborative workshops and creative activities, we work alongside children and their adults to develop one-of-a-kind publications which are particular to the lives and local practices of each community of creators, reflecting their culture, identity and imagination.

Share your story, share your language – multilingual picture book drop-in workshop for children and families Past Event
Share your story, Share your language is a place to create a picture book with your child, using all the languages that mean something to you and your family.
- Listen to stories from a diverse range of storytellers drawing on a range of different languages, visuals and storytelling techniques including Kamishibai box stories, figurines and sand pictures.
- Create your own 8 page book with pictures on the KidsPublish app for iPad or with paper collage
- Receive a folded print out of the book to share with family and friends
- Receive a pdf copy of the book so additional copies can be printed at any time
- Share your story on a large screen and narrate in your language

The Share your story, Share your language workshop is part of Kids’ Own’s 2022 program Kids’ Own Languages, which seeks to contribute to a creative arts landscape that fundamentally challenges perspectives of language and identity and truly reflects the diversity of contemporary Australia.
