About Huge Mumma Spice Merchant
Huge Mumma Spice Merchant is a printmaking and art studio run by Artek Halpern-Laurence in Warrandyte on Wurundjeri land. Huge Mumma workshops intend to demystify printmaking and experiment with combining processes old and new.
Practical Printmaking Past Event
This workshop will dive in to various methods of printmaking including etching, silkscreen, mono, relief, modified laser and Riso printing. The day will include demonstrations, examples of artworks/books created with these methods and conversation about what these techniques provide to contemporary artists and designers. During the day there will be plenty of time to get hands-on in the studio, ask questions, experiment and have a cuppa. Participants are guaranteed to leave with a handful of original prints of their own.
Hosted in a cluster of Warrandyte studios, attendees will also have the opportunity to explore artist’s working studio spaces spanning sculpture, ceramics, printmaking and more.
This workshop is suitable for all skill levels and ages and your ticket includes all materials needed for the day: high quality printmaking paper, inks, use of the studio, presses and exclusive, unlimited access to the tea, coffee and snacks bench.
