About The Print Council of Australia and The Melbourne Athenaeum Library
The Print Council of Australia Inc. (PCA) is a national not-for-profit organisation that promotes contemporary Australian printmaking, including artist books, zines and works on paper. It was established in 1966 through the efforts of Dr. Ursula Hoff, who was then Curator of the Prints and Drawings department at the National Gallery of Victoria, and printmakers and educators Grahame King and Udo Sellbach.
The Melbourne Athenaeum Library was founded in 1839 as the Melbourne Mechanics’ Institution. Today the library holds a 30,000-strong collection and hosts regular events, talks, book clubs and a screen club. It provides a warm, inviting reading room to relax in the heart of the city, and payment of an annual subscription allows you to become part of this extraordinary institution, part of Melbourne’s history.
